Reporting

How do I report a repair?

Choose Report a repair, pick what’s wrong and add a few words. Photos and good times help, but you can send without them. Check your message, then send it to your property manager.

Report each problem separately so each has its own reference and progress.

What should I put in my report?

Say what’s happening, where it is and when you noticed it. A photo of the problem can help the office understand it. Leave out people, private papers and anything else the repair doesn’t need.

Only take a photo if it’s safe. You don’t need to put yourself at risk to report a repair.

Do I have to try the quick checks?

The report shows safety information first. Read it and only try a check if it’s safe and fits your home. You can carry on without ticking anything.

If you’ve already tried the checks that fit, choose I’ve tried these. Your property manager sees that with your report.

What are good times?

Good times tell the office when a tradesperson could visit. Choose the times that suit, or add your own words. They fill in from your last report at the same home, and you can change or clear them.

These are your preferences. A visit is booked when a time is confirmed on your repair.

Signing in

My sign-in code hasn’t arrived

Give it a minute and check your junk or spam folder. Check that the email shown is yours. You can send another code, or choose Use a different email if it’s wrong.

Use the latest code. If it has run out, send another. You don’t need a password.

How do I use an invitation?

Open your office’s invitation and choose its button to join your home. It works once, for three days. If it has been used or has run out, sign in with the email it was sent to and get a code.

Keep invitations and codes to yourself. Anyone you give them to may be able to sign in as you.

Can I report without an invitation?

Yes. Start a report with your email, then add where you rent and choose your agency by name. If you can’t find it, you can enter your property manager’s email instead.

You’ll enter your sign-in code before sending. Your report stays with you if you need to change your email along the way.

Repair progress

How do I see where a repair is up to?

Open Check on a repair and choose the repair. The tracker shows Sent, Seen, Booked, Fixing and Fixed. Whose move tells you who needs to do something next.

The repair also keeps your report, messages and visits together. New since you last looked points out a change.

How do I reply to my property manager?

Open the repair and write in Messages, then choose Send. Keep the reply about that repair so it stays with the right record.

The buttons in repair emails also take you to the next step, such as choosing a time or saying whether it’s fixed.

What does the reply date mean?

It’s the date your report asks the office to reply by. It isn’t a promised visit or finish date. Open Why this date? on the repair to see how it was worked out and the official source.

The repair’s next steps show when a follow-up is due. If it isn’t sorted opens the other steps and the advice service for your state.

It’s sorted now. How do I tell the office?

On an open repair, choose Something changed? then It’s sorted. A few words are welcome, but you don’t have to add any. The office is told and can close it, with the record kept.

If it comes back before the repair closes, use It’s got worse.

The problem has got worse

Stay safe first. Open the safety steps if there’s an emergency.

On an open repair, choose Something changed? then It’s got worse. Add a few words and photos if they help. Answer any questions about what’s happening now. The office is told, and the reply date can move sooner if the repair is now urgent.

Safety steps
Why is it waiting on the owner’s OK?

The office has asked the owner to approve the work. Your repair shows whose move it is while they wait. Quote amounts stay between the office, the tradesperson and the owner.

You can still send the office a message, or use It’s got worse if the problem has changed.

The tradesperson came, but it’s still not fixed

When Is it fixed? appears, choose No, it’s still not fixed and say what’s wrong. You can add photos. This sends it back to the office.

Answer by the time shown. After two days without an answer, it counts as fixed. If that has happened, send the office a message on the repair. If the office closed it, use Still needs fixing?.

Visit times

How do I choose a visit time?

When times are offered, open the repair and choose That suits beside one that fits. Choose No beside times that don’t. If you turn down all the times, the tradesperson is asked for others and the office is told.

Check the confirmed visit on the repair. Sometimes a time is booked straight into the good times you gave, and you’ll be told.

I can’t make a time, or nobody came

Open the repair and choose Something changed? For a future booked visit, choose Can’t make it now. It asks the tradie for new times and tells the office.

Once a booked visit has passed, choose Nobody came to let the office know. You can add a few words. If either choice isn’t shown, send your property manager a message on the repair.

Records and privacy

How do I keep my repair record?

You can print it or save a copy using the options your device offers. Videos stay with the repair. Keep any copy somewhere private and check it before sharing.

Can I keep a copy of my information?

In Your details, choose Download your information for a spreadsheet of your details, homes, repairs with messages and visits, and move-in records. Photos aren’t included.

Your sent repair emails are another dated copy to keep. Store downloads and emails somewhere private.

Can I print my move-in record?

Check the preview before keeping or sharing it. A saved or printed copy may contain private details and photos.

Who sees my repair?

Your office receives your report and messages. A tradesperson gets the repair details they need for the job, with your name, phone number and email kept out of their job brief.
